SWTOR Marauder Annihilation Build Playstyle
You’ll notice pretty quickly after rolling an Annihilation spec that it is pretty straight forward and pretty easy to pick up. This spec is very bursty so you’ll notice your DPS won’t really be sustained until later in the fight, it will be really high at the start and then drop down until the next burst and then shoot up again and it will probably be a couple of minutes into the fight before it really settles down. The reason I’m saying this is because you do not want to try out this spec for a minute on some enemy and see really high DPS and be like wow this is amazing! Instead try it out on a longer fight to see how it really works.
Now I’m going to cover how you should be using your abilities, if you’ve read my Carnage guide you know that Carnage follows a priority type system and not quite a solid rotation, Annihilation is similar to that. This is how you are going to want to start your fight: Charge in, followed by a Deadly Saber, then use Battering Assault, followed by a Rupture, and finally Annihilate. Ok, that is your opening, do not just repeat that over again because it isn’t going to be efficient.
Instead you’ll want to follow this priority list: Berserk is number one, this means whenever Berserk is off cooldown you are using it over any other ability. Second is Deadly Saber, followed by Rupture, these three abilities should never be available at the same time as each other. Fourth on the priority list is Annihilate, and then after these four abilities you can either use a Vicious Slash to build some damage while waiting for other abilities OR you can use any rage building ability if you are running a bit low.
Examples of a rage builder would be Battering Assault, Assault, or Charge. Also! Keep in mind if you have a decent amount of rage but not a ton don’t just Vicious Slash unless you are sure you will have enough rage to use all of your important abilities as they are coming off cooldown, you don’t want to waste any time with them sitting there available to use and you building rage.
SWTOR Marauder Annihilation Build Tips/Reminders
Something you should really keep in mind is that the Rupture effect should NOT be re-applied until it has fallen off, when I had said in the playstyle it was third on priority list, by that I’m meaning that the Rupture effect is #3 on the priority list, it does not mean that when Berserk and Deadly Saber are on cooldown that you should immediately reapply Rupture, you don’t want to waste the damage it inflicts as it falls off the target.
Strength and Endurance are the two main stats that you should be stacking, and remember that Strength takes priority over Endurance, now concerning Willpower, Aim, and Cunning: Do not use these! Sure if there’s an item will high Strength and some Cunning attached to it go for it, but keep in mind these three stats are pretty useless for you.
As for secondary stats you will want to reach for 110% accuracy to negate the 10% block from bosses. That cap is your main priority, after that you’ll want Surge and Crit both somewhat equally followed by power.
SWTOR Marauder Annihilation Build Key Abilities
Deadly Saber: This ability will charge your sabers for 15 seconds, this causes your next 3 melee attacks to inflict a bleed on the target for 402 damage over 6 seconds, this can stack up to 3 times and cannot occur more than once every 1.5 seconds.
Deep Wound: Rupture gets a little boost from this talent, it will cause the Direct Damage from Rupture to increase by 30%, now, this means that the damage over time effect is not increased, but it still nice to have that extra kick on the direct damage.
Hungering: I think this is a really cool talent, it causes Critical Hits from bleed effects to also heal you for 2% of your maximum health, this is very useful in any situation because you’re always taking at least a small amount of damage and this will take a little of pressure off of the healers.
Annihilate: Strike the target for 528 – 808 weapon damage, every time you use Annihilate you will gain Annihilator for 15 seconds which reduces the cooldown of Annihilate by 1.5 seconds and this can stack up to 3 times. So basically just using Annihilate regularly will allow you to use it even more throughout the fight.
