SWTOR Marauder Carnage Build Playstyle

Okay! Now that you’ve got the build we’ll be discussing, lets get into how we’ll be utilizing this build to form you into a DPS machine. One thing you’ll notice pretty quick is it’s a bit difficult to follow a distinct rotation as Carnage because the cooldowns of your main abilities aren’t going to compliment each other very well.

Therefore we’re going to want to use more of a priority system, and it will go a little something like this: Start off with Charge and follow it up with a Massacre, next you’ll use Battering Assault, followed by a Gore, followed by a Scream, followed by a Ravage. Now, you obviously won’t want to Charge again after doing that, this will just be your opening rotation.

Next we’ll talk about what you do after that opener, at that point you will want to make sure that Ravage, Gore, Force Scream, and Battering Assault are always on cooldown, if they aren’t use it immediately and they should all stay on cooldown and you won’t be wasting any time on one ability trying to use another. When all 4 abilities are on cooldown you will want to use Assault.

However! If your Blood Frenzy falls off you will want to make sure you use Massacre to re apply. A solid mid-fight rotation would be something like this: Gore is top priority, if Gore is off cooldown you’re using it, next is Ravage, followed by Battering Assault, at this point your next priority is either Force Scream if Blood Frenzy is already active and Massacre if it is not, if you use Massacre then use Force Scream right after, if you can use Force Scream and don’t need Massacre then move to a Berserk and then a Massacre.

That is pretty much all you’ll need to know for a general playstyle, it can be a tad confusing but once you are able to play with it you’ll get a better understanding for what exactly you need to do.

Strength is your #1 stat to make sure you’re stacking, this means any gear you obtain you want to ensure it has a high amount of Strength. Second on the list of important stats is Endurance. Third is nothing, you really only want to focus on Strength and Endurance for main stats because Willpower, Aim, and Cunning are all better suited for other classes.

For secondary stats you’ll want to utilize Accuracy until it has reached 110%, this will negate the 10% blocking chance that bosses have. After you have the 110% Accuracy you’ll want to stack Power, then Crit, and if you don’t have any other options Surge is another possible stat which is helpful, just not as helpful as the others.

Ataru Form: Entering this form will cause your accuracy to increase by 3%, keep this in mind when trying to reach that 110% accuracy cap I touched on earlier because going over that is just a complete waste of stats because it will literally do nothing for you at all. Also, while in this form your melee attacks will have a 20% chance to instantly strike again for 229 damage, keep in mind this cannot occur more than once every 1.5 seconds.

Blood Frenzy: I hadn’t talked about Blood Frenzy earlier but it is important to know that while in Ataru Form, those additional strikes will grant “Blood Frenzy” for 6 seconds, at the end of Bloody Frenzy you will generate 1 rage. This cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds.

Gore: This ability is an instant strike that deals 253 – 387 weapon damage and causes Gore to apply for 6 seconds, this will increase armor penetration by 100%, a hefty damage increase goes hand in hand with this proc.

Massacre: Strikes the enemy for 247 – 378 weapon damage, when you use Massacre it will automatically trigger the additional strike from Ataru Form with will in turn trigger Blood Frenzy, on top of that for the next 6 seconds after using Massacre you have a 30% increased chance of proccing another Ataru Form Strike. At this point you’ll be proccing Ataru Form strikes nearly every 6 seconds which is an awesome boost for your damage.

Ataru Mastery: Just another kick to the Ataru Strikes is added here, this talent will increase the damage caused by those Ataru Strikes by 30%, and when they are happening as often as 6 seconds at a time this damage boost is pretty significant.
