SWTOR Marauder Guide

Hello and welcome to our SWTOR Marauder Guide, in any game it is very important that you pick the class that best suits your preferred playstyle. In this SWTOR Marauder Guide I’ll cover what exactly your possible roles will be, as well as give a general overview of the class and finally go over some of the key abilities involved so you have a good idea of what kind of skills you can expect to find within the class.

SWTOR Marauder Guide Overview

The Marauder comes from the Sith Warrior, the other optional advanced class is the Juggernaut. The Marauder is pretty much a straight damage dealing beast, unlike the Juggernaut where some of the damage is lost to the tanking possibilities. One cool thing about the Marauder class is that you are able to dual wield, which looks really badass. There are a lot of pros as well as several cons involved with the Marauder, so let’s cover those.

As for pros, you’re going to have some of the best damage in the game, also the Marauder has decent mobility at certain times. You have a bloodlust type ability which increases 15% damage and healing of your entire raid group every 5 minutes. You’re not limited to just one type of damage dealing also, you can choose between either a direct damage route or a damage over time type playstyle.

Now, it wouldn’t be a SWTOR Marauder Guide if I didn’t also cover the cons involved, the Marauder class is pretty easy to learn, however, it is pretty difficult to master as well. This is somewhat of a pro as well as a con, it really depends on how often you play this character. Your damage is very reliant on an annoyingly constant checking of whats available to use as far as your abilities are concerned, as well as your rage and fury.

SWTOR Marauder Guide Talent Trees

Annihilation: As I said earlier you have a choice between damage over time and direct damage. This tree is the damage over time route, you should be in Juyo form if you choose this path, and you’ll want to focus on a more aggressive rush in and do work mentality.

Carnage: Here we have the direct damage option, you’ll need a totally different mindset if you’ve been playing Annihilation and choose to switch over to carnage, you won’t be able to just apply DoTs and kite an enemy around while slapping some moderate direct damage abilities from time to time. As Carnage you’ll be in Ataru form, which is more of a steady direct damage based form obviously.

Rage: Now we go into the Shared talent tree, which as you know is shared with the Juggernaut advanced class but still differentiates as you’ll have Marauder abilities instead of Juggernaut abilities. Rage is a fantastic PvP option as it allows you to utilize your mobility as well as give you a mix of direct damage, damage over time, and crowd control abilities.

SWTOR Marauder Guide Key Abilities

Bloodthirst: One reason everyone loves to have a Marauder in their group is Bloodthirst, when activated it will convert 30 stacks of fury to ensue Bloodthirst, which increases all damage and healing by 15% by everyone in your party. This effect will last for 15 seconds.

Deadly Throw: Here we have a good PvP ability, or if there is healing involved in a PvE battle it can be useful as well. It deals 1510 – 1619 damage as well as inflicting a Trauma debuff for 15 seconds, it will reduce all healing received by the target by 20%.

Rupture: This is a really low direct damage ability but has extremely high additional damage over time.

SWTOR Marauder Guide Conclusion

Now you should have all the required information to decide if this is the class for you, obviously there is a whole lot more involved, so I encourage you to check into our other advanced class guides to compare with those as well as our Build guides so you have a good idea of what each of the 3 possible builds has to offer. Best of luck, and I hope you’ve been helped by my SWTOR Marauder Guide.
