SWTOR Sage Balance Build Play Style
This build combines self-healing abilities with plenty of crowd control, and a ton of damage on top of that. You don’t have the same amount of AoE abilities as the Telekinetic Tree does, but it makes up for that in pure single target damage which when used right, is very impressive.
Now with this build your damage really comes out of the amount of Damage over Time abilities you have, It’s really quite fun to sit back an watch as your opponents health drops steadily. On top of that you can utilize your Crowd Control abilities while soloing for a bit of fun.
Using this build in a team, you always want to make sure your using the right abilities at the right time, stacking up your DoT abilities can really preform a huge amount of damage, but only if done in the right order. Open up with Force in Balance, and then use Weaken Mind for the crit bonus, then follow that up with Sever Force and Telekinetic Throw. Now pay attention to what DoTs are present on the current mob, if there’s none up you want to use Mind Crush at this point, if there is DoTs up just use Telekinetic wave, then use project followed finally by Telekinetic Throw.
This can all be a bit intimidating at first, but it’s really worth the effort. It’s a huge amount of fun when you know what you’re doing because you can play around with NPCs more than any other class with all of you Stun abilities. It’s a great class for PvE, you just need to get into the habit of prioritizing your abilities correctly.
SWTOR Sage Balance Build Tips/Reminders
You always want to be keeping an eye on your Force Points because it’s key to keep them at a reasonable level. If you accidentally run out there’s no real options to get it back up, you will have to wait and that can cause drops in your damage and potentially anger your team. If you’re out of Force Points and you take some heat, you can’t simply pop your heal, you have to wait for them to recover before you can take care of yourself, and this can stress the healer.
Being a light-armor user, you’re generally squishy so make sure you’re steering clear of most dangerous situations, that is unless you know what you’re doing. With the addition of heals and plenty of CC you can kind of keep yourself alive, but there’s no need to needlessly put yourself in harm’s way.
Make sure you’re keeping tabs on what’s happening in your team, if you have a good tank he will be explaining the fights beforehand and helping the team with clear directions. If no one in your team is talking, try to stir up some sort of conversation, usually people will gravitate towards talking about the current situation if they’re all talking.
SWTOR Sage Balance Build Key Abilities/Talents
Sever Force: This is your final talent out of your tree, and it’s pretty nice because not only does it deal moderate damage but it also freezes your opponent. This will weaken the target, freezing it in place for 2 seconds, also dealing 1457 internal damage over 8 seconds.
Force in Balance: This is an instant Damage over time, and is needed for maximum damage out of your rotation. This will Deal 1198-1309 internal damage to up to 3 targets within 8 meters of the targeted area, as well as healing you for 22 points per affected target. Pretty amazing ability, considering not only is it a huge AoE DoT, but it also heals you.
Presence of Mind: this is a great talent for increasing your damage, if it is only slightly. When your Telekinetic throw deals damage you have a 30% chance to cause your next Force-damaging attack with an activation time to activate instantly and deal 20% more damage.
