SWTOR Sentinel Focus PvP Build Playstyle

Here we’re going to discuss a PvP based build, feel free to use this for PvE as well but I would recommend slightly tweaking this build if you are going to go that route. The focus tree is very strong for PvP at level 50, and can really dominate other classes in 1v1 combat especially.

First I’m going to talk a little bit about the general playstyle, and then follow up with some tips and reminders before going into the key abilities. So one thing you should know about PvP playstyles is there is no real rotation or strict priority list, that certainly doesn’t mean that you just button mash, it means that you need to pay extra attention to whats going on and using your proper abilities for the proper situation.

Force Sweep, these are two words you should know when playing Focus PvP, this is going to be your main damage source. Now, don’t just go in and spam Force Sweep, you’ll want to make sure that first you have the Felling Blow buff from Force Leap which is something you’ll be wanting to use regardless especially in PvP, the leap deals some decent damage as well as immobilizing the target for 2 seconds and interrupting them if they are casting.

Now that you’ve leaped in and have Felling Blow buffed, your next force sweep will crit guaranteed. Another thing you’ll want to pay attention to is your Singularity stacks, the stack cap for this is 4 so you’ll want to try and have that, reason being is that it will increase the damage by force sweep by 50% (12.5% for each stack)

So you have 4 stacks of singularity, you force leaped in and have felling blow, and your Force Sweep is not only going to deal 50% increased damage, it is also going to guarantee crit and deal anywhere from 2k – 4k damage depending on what class and how well geared your targeted opponent is.

If you don’t have the Singularity stacks prior to force leaping in, you’ll want to try something like this: Force leap to your target, follow this with a Force Exhaustion, use a Zealous Strike and then once you’ve got the 4 stacks of Singularity use your Force Sweep as your Felling Blow lasts 15 seconds it will for sure still be up. If you use all these abilities your opponent will nearly be at 50% hp for an average opponent already.

This is going to take a lot of practicing and tweaking as I’ve said because of trying to ensure you’ve got those 4 Singularity stacks and Felling blow before Force Sweeping, if you’ve got 2-3 stacks then go for it because you’ll still deal a high amount of damage. On top of this you’ve got one more thing to worry about, focus. If you’re low on focus you may not be able to execute this full rotation so maybe mix in some focus regenerative abilities before trying to pull of the Force Sweep.

SWTOR Sentinel Focus PvP Build Tips/Reminders

Keep an eye on your interrupting abilities such as Force Leap, watch your opponent if they’re casting a big time heal and quick Force Leap if it is off cooldown to interrupt this.

As I’ve stated multiple times try as hard as you can to keep Singularity stacks and Felling Blow buff rolling. It’s so important to your Force Sweep and you’ll realize this the more you play the build.

SWTOR Sentinel Focus PvP Build Key Abilities

Zealous Leap: Here we have an alternative to Force Leap or an addition as it will also cause Felling Blow to occur, it simply leaps to the target dealing moderate damage, however, a nice PvP perk is the Agility Training talent which increases movement speed by 40% for 5 seconds after using Zealous Leap. This allows you to jump to a target and keep up with them if they have any speed buffs going as well.

Felling Blow: Causes both Force Leap and Zealous leap to guarantee a critical hit from your next sweep attack in the next 15 seconds.

Focused Resonance: This talent will increase all critical strike damage of force attacks by 30%, remember how Force Sweep is going to have 50% increased damage from Singularity as well as a guarantee crit from Felling Blow? Add this in there just to make yourself even stronger.

Force Exhaustion: The final talent in the Focus talent tree is Force Exhaustion, which progressively slows the target from 60-10% movement speed over 5 seconds and deals 302 damage per second, and then at the end of the duration it will crush the target for 804 damage.
